The piece ‘Boat song‘ (2020), Ernesto Burgos enters the Celine Art Project collection.

Over the past six years, celine has put together an art collection of more than 250 site-specific artworks – curated by Hedi Slimane – on display in its international flagship stores. The result is a total artwork, that unites space and object, a permanent collection that balances classicism and rebellion, form with space, the weight of materials with the dynamism of present-day thinking.

The collection is linked by materiality and the monumental. There is a strong emphasis on abstract paintings, sculptures, and texture – with many of the art pieces playing with plinths and resembling columns and monoliths. These works reflect the history of minimalism, brutalism, bauhaus and modernism in very contemporary ways. This art of the now, embedded with a sense of timelessness.
