Sociedad Concreta
Press Release
Sociedad Concreta is a behind closed-doors project based on the concept of the sacred, contact and the intimate experience of art in a time of public display and the retreat of the unique.
In the manner of Bey’s Temporary Autonomous Zones or the secret societies of surrealism, the exhibition is articulated as a series of anachronistic islands where singular, vulgar, well-known people will gather, who in turn will constitute concrete and temporary societies, tied together by the common experience of something real, not represented. Something special or not but that will not happen again.
In general terms, the purpose of the project is to be able to restore the link between the materiality of art and the accelerated spirituality that derive from the digital, also addressing the return of the religious in contemporary artistic institutions and the loss of substance of criticism tools. In this effort, the exhibition will revolve around the objects of worship, design tools, body technique, therapy or the elaboration of own symbols in order to unravel the mystery of current social trauma.
A mystery whose specific content is, however, always much simpler.
Access to the exhibition is restricted and it will only be possible to access on designated dates by means of a personal invitation.
With the collaboration of Marta Armengol, Julián Cruz, María Espada, Andrés Izquierdo, Sahatsa Jauregui, Nerea Manzano, Frances Ribes, Alfredo Rodríguez ,Clara Zubía.
